Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has become a bustling hub for the global garment-textile and footwear industries as a series of international trade fairs opened their doors at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre on October 25.
These events, including the 21st Vietnam International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition (VTG-2023), the 21st Vietnam International Textile Fabrics and Accessories Exhibition 2023 (VITATEX 2023), the Vietnam International Dyeing & Chemical Industry Exhibition 2023 (DYECHEM 2023), and the Vietnam International Footwear Machinery and Material Exhibition (VFM 2023), are a joint effort by the Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (VINEXAD), Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam, and several other organizations, with support from key industry associations.
A Global Gathering
These fairs have brought together over 500 exhibitors from 12 countries and territories, showcasing their products in 830 booths. Among the participating nations are India, Bangladesh, Taiwan (China), the Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Switzerland, and Italy. This international convergence has made these events a global hotspot for the textile and garment industry, where trends and cutting-edge technologies are on full display.
Embracing Digital Transformation
The theme for this year's fairs centers on factory digitalization, with a strong emphasis on promoting the modernization and digitization of Vietnam's textile and garment industry. This strategic shift is underpinned by a desire to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and usher in an era of growth, even in the face of challenging circumstances.
Judy Wang, General Director of Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam, has highlighted the significance of these events. She explained that they serve as a prestigious platform for enterprises looking to adopt digital solutions that can drive overall efficiency and help cut costs. In essence, this shift towards digital transformation is turning crises into opportunities for growth within the industry.
A Hub for Sustainable Solutions
Running until October 28, the series of events is not merely about exhibitions. It is also a forum for knowledge sharing and collaboration. Several seminars and conferences will focus on topics like sustainable garment and textile supply chains, the green transition, and digitalization within the sector. These discussions will offer insights and solutions for businesses looking to embrace sustainable practices and navigate the evolving landscape of the textile and garment industry.
In conclusion, these international fairs are not just trade events but a testament to Vietnam's commitment to embracing digital transformation and sustainable practices. They serve as a beacon for global industry players to explore modern solutions, reduce costs, and move toward a more efficient and sustainable future.
