Cone Denim® Introduces COLOURizd™ Sustainable Technology for Denim at Kingpins Show Amsterdam

Cone Denim®, a global leader in denim manufacturing, is set to unveil its latest innovation, COLOURizd™ sustainable alternative technology for denim, at the upcoming Kingpins Show in Amsterdam on April 24-25. Developed by COLOURizd LLC, this groundbreaking technology offers a new approach to textile coloration, revolutionizing the denim industry's sustainability efforts.

Cone Denim's Director of Innovation, Caitlyn Holt, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, "Not only is this a first for Cone, but it is new to the industry. This technology will allow us to have a quantifiable impact with unprecedented natural resource savings per yard produced." COLOURizd's proprietary QuantumCOLOUR™ technology transforms textile coloration by directly infusing pigments and a binder into the yarn fibers. This innovative process enhances yarn with vibrant colors, creates visual texture, and eliminates the need for traditional dye baths and lengthy wet processing, significantly reducing environmental impact.

Jennifer Thompson, CEO of COLOURizd LLC, emphasized the technology's transformative potential, stating, "At COLOURizd, we’re not just changing the way we color textiles; we’re redefining the future of sustainable fashion." The partnership between COLOURizd and Cone Denim showcases the power of QuantumCOLOUR technology to revolutionize textile coloration while promoting sustainability and vibrant fashion.

The COLOURizd technology is part of Cone Denim's Sustainblue™ Collection, an environmentally friendly start-to-finish approach for making responsible denim. Compared to conventional reactive dyeing processes, COLOURizd technology offers significant environmental benefits, including a 50% reduction in energy use, a 73% reduction in carbon footprint, and a remarkable 98% reduction in water usage at the dyeing process.

Highlighting Cone Denim's commitment to environmental stewardship, COLOURizd will be featured in the Community Collection Forest Conservation fabrics supporting the Rainforest Alliance. These fabrics, made from Cone Denim selvage, promote forest conservation awareness, with a portion of total sales donated to the Rainforest Alliance. Holt stated, "This capsule and partnership allow us to continue our commitment to sustainable practices that define the foundation for our vision of tomorrow."

As Cone Denim introduces COLOURizd technology at the Kingpins Show Amsterdam, it signals a new era in denim manufacturing—one driven by innovation, sustainability, and a shared commitment to a greener future for the fashion industry. Attendees can look forward to experiencing firsthand the transformative power of COLOURizd technology in shaping the future of denim.
